Description
Anthony Rain Starez is a musician, vocalist and author from the Tampa Bay area of Florida, USA. He's also a quadriplegic as the result of a car accident that left him with a permanent spinal cord injury. Anthony's life-altering event would forever color his life and shape him as an artist. The accident left him confined to a wheelchair, losing his ability to play guitar and piano, yet helping him discover writing and singing. Whether it's recording original songs, playing cover songs or writing short stories, memoirs and poems, Anthony feels his art is all about touching people. "To me, my accident has closed so many doors, yet somehow opened some that never would've been there otherwise." Anthony goes on to reveal, "There's something to be said for having your back shoved against a wall. It can really make you focus on the things important in life." After his accident, Anthony learned to drive again with hand-controls, adjusted to his new body and graduated college with a B.A. degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida. While attending classes, Anthony began writing for local music magazines. It was his way of staying close to music. Anthony also did a stint as an A&R representative for Capitol Records scouting musical talent in Florida. Soon, Anthony began experimenting with creating music again recording originals and performing as a vocalist in duos/trios. While performing music remains close to Anthony's heart, he has found time to focus on writing, producing two books. One, Goodnight Sun, is five fictional short stories, while You Rock-I Roll is the compelling true stories of his life. Both books are available in paperback and Kindle via amazon.com. Anthony's music is available for listening completely FREE on soundcloud.com. "In order to see the whole picture, you must look outside the frame." - Anthony Rain Starez
