Artist Profile
Blithely accepting a gig in 1994 even though he had no band, Saxhound, Bob Reed, placed an ad in the Chicago Tribune for players. He ended up with a drummer with perfect pitch, a classically trained clarinetist and a banjo making bass player.
After their temporary trombone player toppled over a much shorter gazebo half rail and fell into the azaleas below at an outdoor 1999 gig, the then five piece Houndz deemed such heroics in the field worthy and added the trombonist and a trumpet player to their Saxhound to make a full horn section.
This rounded out their sound to fully complement the sixties covers they love and the original music they create.
