Artist Profile
Florent Atem, is 17 years old, nicknamed "Shredder Boy" by some famous Hawaiian musicians, and "the local Steve VAI" or "the Tahitian Joe Satriani" by some Tahitian fellow musicians, because of his way of playing those guitarists' tunes. He was born in Papeete, Tahiti, and is a high school student in Tahiti. He has been playing the guitar for 3 1/2 years, largely self-taught, but did take lessons for one year. Musical influences and experiences - jazz, rock (Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Lee Ritenour, Allan Holdsworth...). He has taken part in several concerts in Tahiti and performed in some clubs in Hawaii.
Carole Atem is 14 years old, also born in Papeete, Tahiti, and also a high school student. She has been playing the piano since the age of 8, then started playing the keyboards three years ago, in 1993. Musical Influences: Jazz, New Age...(Elton John, Fourplay...). She has taken part in all the concerts with her brother.
