Description
There are some engaging moments on the album, like the acoustic-based rocker "Outta Your Way," the chorus hook on "Sweat Better In The Dark," and some brief instrumental showcases (guitar: "Iron Ball Direction"; bass: "The Passing"; percussion: "The Turtle And The Pirate"). There aren't enough gripping hooks, however, to keep jaded ears from losing interest.
"Press Play" has everything it needs to win over fans of the genre who like the classic sound; those looking for something more or different, however, won't find much of it here.
