Description
"My Favourite Dependence" is the first album from Marina Tihvinskaya. Following three months in the studio, in a quiet part of Paris free from all hubbub, this young international artist takes us on a musical journey, swinging for our delight from dance to pop music.
Often as composer and always as interpreter, Marina Tihvinskaya is truly international, singing with authority in several languages. In this extremely intimate album, English, Italian and French songs merrily follow each other as a hymn to the Europe which she loves to visit.
15 songs, including the extended versions of the soundtracks "My Favourire Dependence" and "Celtic Song"
Review
"Marina has a perfect voice and is very adaptable in both singing in English, French and Italian. And I have got to say: Wow this lady has a gorgeous, sweet, compelling, strong, infectious, wonderful, thought provoking, inspirational voice, to just sit back and saviour each and every lyrics she sings. And it does not matter which type of style she sings.. You sit up and take note of this ladies voice. Great tracks and should be in some top 20 chart as this girl. With her looks and that voice she will go far... My Favourite Dependence" -L. Fernez
"The French are not typically known as overachievers, but aspiring international pop sensation Marina Tihvinskaya is full of surprises, and her music, a Michael Bolton inspired blend of adult contemporary and 80s nostalgia, is more culturally diverse than a food court at the mall.
"Tihvinskaya has a lovely voice and sings in three different languages on six tracks, no small feat to be sure, but apart from the myriad synthetic noises employed on her album "My Favourite Dependence", her music is a far cry from electro pop, dance pop, or any other kind of contemporary pop.
"Instead, Tihvinskaya takes us on a whirlwind tour of woodwinds, Spanish guitar and dance beats, more akin to John Tesh than Madonna.
"The standout track of this bunch was "Celtic Song." Although I didn't understand what exactly made it Celtic, it was in English, which was a bonus for me, featured a cool "Night at the Roxbury" type beat and sounded the most like Kylie Minogue - my favorite Australian pop star." -Jason Turner, Indie-music.com
