Description

After several single releases and a successful collaboration with BBC Radio 1 John Peel's favorite Pyschobilly band, The Pocket Gods, the the alternative country artists Heywood and Moore have released their first full length album, "Goodbye Yesterday."

The thirteen track album was recorded in the UK and Australia over several years and features special guests such as the world renowned BJ Cole on pedal steel guitar, Redgums's Hugh McDonald on acoustic and electric guitars, along with fiddle from Tom Kitching and Greg Hunt, electric guitar from Justin Saban and the banjo of Guy Rogers.

The music is a mix of original classic country, country rock and covers from the likes of Patsy Cline, Nanci Griffith and the Wreckers. The duo has been described by the Misfit blog as "The burnished countrified chartpop of Heywood-Moore even sounds as if it could make a killing in the American Bible Belt (sweeping out of the same CCM radio playlists as the likes of Lexi Elisha - not bad for a band that's actually from Dunstable)." Their previous singles have also made an impression down under with New Zealand radio described as "jaunty, airy, catchy" and "a neat country duo."

The sound combines the storytelling of traditional country and the power of roots rock instrumentation and rich vocal harmonies bridges the gap between country and rock. The album features the members of their regular backing band, Hoedown Band.

Anglo-Australian duo Dawn Moore and Brian Heywood are probably the busiest undiscovered country band in the UK with over sixty gigs a year, including some in Australia. Their sound is a tight amalgam of raunchy guitar driven roots music and rich vocal harmonies that bridges the gap between classic and new country. The band's gig list includes festivals such as the Tamworth Country Music Festival which is among the world's top ten music festivals as well as being the second biggest Country Music Festival after Nashville. Back in the UK the band has played at many festivals as well as large charity events such as Coleen Nolan's Wild West Party at Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
