Artist Profile
"Although I love playing sessions and live dates that demand traditional steel or slide (country, swing, Hawaiian, blues, rock, etc.), I've always felt the steel was capable of so much more, which is why I've always tried to push the envelope." As a founder of the BAMMIE-nominated Robin & The Rocks, Ned put the steel in the forefront of a pop rock band, as well as pioneering the use of MIDI/steel. Since then he's worked with a wide range of Bay Area artists like Anita Pointer, Bonnie Hayes, and Preston Glass, among others, as well as producing/arranging/recording for himself and other acts at his own studio. He has also written articles and reviews for Electronic Musician, Steel Guitarist Magazine, and Transoniq Hacker.
