D.M. Youngquist has been writing since he could pick up a crayon and make marks on paper. He was first paid for his work while attending Western Illinois University where he started writing for the opinions column, and eventually branched out into all the other departments of the Western Courier.
His non-fiction work has appeared in such magazines as American Hunter, Carousel Horse News and Trader, and SHOOT! Magazine. In March of 2006, the British webzine, Darkfire, published his short story: '77 Coupe DeVille. That same year, Youngquist was approached by Quixote Press to write the first of his collection of ghost stories, "Ghosts of Interstate 80." The book was released in 2007. In 2008, his second book, "Ghosts of the Illinois Canal System was released by Quixote. In 2009, the first of his zombie/horror stories was published by the website Tales of World War Z.
