Product Details
Digging deeper into ministry means drawing closer to God and living His love for people.
The Christian Musicians Devotional is specifically for Christian musicians who desire extraordinary music ministries. This book addresses the attitudes, issues, and difficulties involved with music ministry. Each of the 365 daily devotions is designed to keep us focused on what really matters: to love God and live His love for people. Only by living love can we attain our goal of bringing people closer to Jesus. More importantly, only by maintaining a dynamic love for God can we sustain the extraordinary music ministry that God has planned for us.
The definition of a Christian music minister does not necessarily include being signed to a national label or a photograph on the cover of a well-known magazine. Many Christian music ministers will never be famous. Most of us work another job to support our music. Being a tent-maker, like the apostle Paul, does not lessen the impact or the power of our ministry. Likewise, being paid to do full time work in our ministry, like the apostle Peter, does not eliminate the struggles of life as a musician. Regardless of whether we work full time in ministry or as tent-makers, Christian music ministers must stay spiritually strong while working long hours both on and off the road. The Christian Musicians Devotional will help us develop a deeper love for God and for people.
About the Author
I have been working for over 30 years in Christian music ministry and I have pretty much seen it all: the financial successes and those who sacrificed everything, the fake Christians who think they can get ahead in the music industry by starting out in Christian music, and the true Christ followers, the bands that please God and the ones who poorly represent Him. Through it all I constantly encourage Christian musicians to increase the excellence of business in their ministry because the way we handle the business side of ministry demonstrates our integrity. The Bible is very clear that if we want to be entrusted with the true riches of ministry (people) we must do what is right simply because it is right with our money and our business decisions (Luke 16:11). Sometimes integrity costs us money, but God's blessing has no price tag and He will more than make up for anything our integrity might cost. The explosion of technology in the music industry provides you with the opportunity to change the world more effectively than any musicians before you. It is my sincere hope that this devotional book helps you stay close to God and make use of every opportunity He provides for you to bring people closer to Jesus.
