Steve approaches composition texturally. "Leaf in a Stream," for example, has more layers than an Annie Hall outfit. The leaf begins its trip down the stream as Steve's acoustic guitars burble a background line, supplemented by a synthesizer and percussion. Steve then double tracked a guitar melody on top. After a chordal interlude, a searing electic guitar melody emerges.
