Artist Profile
John Schlenck , a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, has served as music director of the Vedanta Society, New York, since 1961. He has composed numerous songs and large choral works, symphonies, piano solo works and chamber music. His interfaith cantata "Seek the Eternal" was performed at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago, 1993. Schlenck "A Mission to the World", for chorus and orchestra, vocal quartet and narrators was performed at Alice Tully Hall in New York, 1994. In 1997, his "Three Vedanti Hymns" was released on the New World recording, Divine Grandeur.

Charla A. Gulino, flutist, has performed as soloist and chamber musician all over the world. Since obtaining Bachelor's and Master' s degrees at the Manhattan School of Music, Gulino has appeared in concert at Carnegie Hall and other major venues throughout the United States and Europe. A recent transplant to Southern California, Gulino has established herself with many different orchestras and chamber groups. She feels especially blessed to have had Thomas Nyfenger, Julius Baker, and Jean Pierre Rampal as teachers, mentors and friends.

Shaun Darius Gottlieb, cellist, began studies with Eileen Strang, a student of Emanuel Feuermann. At seventeen, he was principal cellist at the North Carolina School of the Arts, graduating in 1972 with the Vittorio Giannini Award for excellence. Scholarships to CalArts granted him lessons with Joel Krosnick (Juilliard String Quartet) and compositional studies with Leonard Stein. Gottlieb's recent CD, "Cello Fire: a Feast for the Soul," led to an appointment as artist-in-residence at The Esalen Institute. A Baroque continuo specialist, Gottlieb is founder of The Bach Players. He is also a published poet and recording producer.
